Tranquility Series
With my Tranquility series I draw inspiration from the myriad of plants that surround me. These intimate views of flora reveal microcosms of delicate magnificence waiting to be explored. My background fields are composed of French words, fading in and out of focus, their significance determined by the viewer's interpretation.
I compose my own photographs in order to more closely communicate my vision, but no matter how completely I plan the end result is often a surprise even to me. I'm attracted to the serendipity of the act of layering paper, rubbing paint and applying wax in these collages. My aim is to evoke a feeling of calm and peace, a place for tired eyes to rest.
